FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: proposed armor comprises crushing-deflecting layer 1 composed of separate corundum elements 2 bound in single panel by polymer-based binder 5, and arresting layer 6. The latter is made from aluminium alloy or steel. Armor is provided with panel 7 including inner sheet 8 and outer sheet 9 made from metal or nonmetal and interlayer 10 of foamed polyurethane. Interlayer thickness is selected to ensure tolerable level of impact loads, ductility, heat and sound isolation.
EFFECT: higher protective properties.
