FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of protection against armor piercing bullets and projectiles, in particular to composite armor used for this purpose. Armor protection in the form of a set of armored plates, each of which includes a metallic, polymeric or composite substrate and a bonded layer of ceramic material with voids filled with a polymer, encased in a polymer or composite material. Layer of ceramic material with voids is made with the topology of a three times periodic surface of minimum energy. Layer of ceramic material with voids can be made with the topology of several different from each other three times periodic surfaces of minimal energy.
EFFECT: increase in protection is achieved without increasing the mass and dimensions.
