FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in order for the cloud projection to indicate the contaminated region with radiation levels higher than the minimum hazardous dose rate of gamma-radiation, the critical value of the level of an echo signal is used when constructing cloud boundaries from probing results, wherein distribution of radiation levels is approximated and the maximum dose rate of gamma-radiation P(M)1 and the dose rate field dispersion σ(P)1 2 along gi are established; coefficients are determined; radiation level distribution parameters along lines g1, which are orthogonal projections of lines ℓi on the earth's surface are predicted; P(M)i=KаJ(М)i; where i≥2, on each line gi at a distance where Pgr is the gradient value of the safe dose rate of gamma-radiation, from the projection of the centre of the cloud (xci, yci); points Ai and Bi are determined; the boundary of the area of radioactive contamination is determined sections AIBI, AnBn, as well as AiAi+1, BiBi+1, where i≥1.
EFFECT: shorter time for determining the real environment using the available amount of equipment.
