FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to physical measurements in the field of radiation, in particular to methods for determining the area of contamination of an area after an accidental release of radioactive substances. Technical problem is solved by updating the prediction of the configuration of areas of radioactive contamination of the area based on the results of measuring the dose rate of gamma radiation, determining the position of reference points, selecting the initial parameters of the emission and meteorological data and correcting the prediction results.
EFFECT: high reliability of predicting the configuration of contamination of an area after an emergency release of radioactive substances.
