FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmic traumatology, and concerns the surgical management of extensive injuries of sclera. The extensive wound of sclera is surgically sealed by sutures. The ophthalmic viscoelastic solution 'Viscomet' 0.3 ml is introduced into a vitreous body as frame structures. Once the sealing is completed, the perfluoroorganic compound octofluoropropane 0.2 ml is introduced intravitreally, and the sutured wound is extrasclerally filled with a permanent filling to be fixed to sclera by sutures 8:0.
EFFECT: method enables simplifying the process of surgical treatment of the wound, reducing intra- and postoperative complications, preserving the eyeball.
