FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to abrasive refining and may be used in production of bearing balls. In refining, series of identical metal-removal strips are regularly marked on ball surface. Every said strip represents a symmetric spherical belt with mirror plane crossing the ball center with width equal to the ball larger circle quarter length. Said series of identical metal-removal strips are regularly marked on ball surface by directing mirror plane of every next strip at right angle to mirror plane of said every next metal-removal strip. Between every two turns of ball through 360 degrees accompanied with metal removal, additional ball turns through 90 degrees are performed not accompanied with metal removal.
EFFECT: higher ball shape precision.
