FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a feeding mechanism, a furnace with a liquid bath of molten alkaline reagents, a burner and a nozzle for feeding combustion air installed in the furnace, an afterburner chamber with an atomising nozzle for spraying alkaline solution, a combustion air recuperator, a gas cooler and an additional gas cooler, a bag filter, a catalytic reactor, a smoke exhaust, a smoke flue with an adsorption filter, a system for feeding fuel to the furnace burners and the afterburner chamber. The furnace has a swivel drive for swivelling about a horizontal axis. A gas conduit which connects the furnace with the afterburner chamber is mated with the end of the furnace in the region of the swivelling axis. The catalytic reactor is installed behind the bag filter in the direction of movement of flue gases and is connected thereto through a smoke-smoke heat exchanger which is installed behind the afterburner chamber. Between the recuperator and the gas cooler, which lies in front of the bag filter, there is a scrubber with an atomising nozzle for alkaline solution. The additional gas cooler is installed between the catalytic reactor and the smoke exhaust.

EFFECT: invention increases the degree of thermal decontamination of toxic chemicals owing to a higher rate.
