FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: blood components are examined by the use of a light growth above a venous blood clot covered with a dense light shell designated as a 'clot cap'. This growth is separated from the clot; a drop of its contents is sampled and placed on a slide which is covered with a cover glass. Then it is examined under a microscope to count a total number of cells and their qualitative composition (erythrocytes, echinocytes, sphere echinocytes, cell conglomerates); the cell count gain over 42 enables the state to be regarded as of moderate severity; the cell count gain to 100 or more shows the severe state, while the drastic fall of the cell count shows the extremely severe state with the unfavourable outcome. With the sphere echinocytes prevailing in the cell composition, a viral nature of the disease is predicted, while the prevailing erythrocytes and echinocytes - a bacterial nature.
EFFECT: use of the presented method enables determining the patient's severity and a potential cause of the disease by the more simple implementation.
