SUBSTANCE: what is involves is the gas chromatography analysis to determined blood acetic, propionic and butyric acids on the first, second and third postoperative days. If in any of the three days, the concentration of acetic acid is 0.19000 mmole/l and higher, the concentration of propionic acid is 0.00018 mmole/l and higher, the concentration of butyric acid is 0.00008 mmole/l and higher, the unfavourable clinical course is predicted.
EFFECT: accuracy and effectiveness of assessing the postoperative clinical course in the patients with peritonitis, a possibility to make an adequate decision on re-laparotomy.
