METHOD FOR ASSESSING THE INTESTINAL DAMAGE IN ACUTE PERITONITIS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2784413 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely, to surgery, and can be used in diagnostics of the degree of intestinal damage in acute peritonitis. Substance of the invention consists in a method for assessing the intestinal damage in acute peritonitis by testing venous blood daily starting from the first day after surgical treatment. The content of medium-weight molecules, the content of malondialdehyde, the activity of phospholipase A2, and the peristalsis coefficient are determined in patients in dynamics in the course of treatment; based on the resulting data, the intestinal damage index (IDI) is calculated according to the formula, wherein the IDI value of 1.5 or lower indicates the absence of significant intestinal damage, a value from 1.6 to 2.5 indicates a low degree of organ damage, a value of 2.6 and more indicates a high degree of intestinal damage.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of predicting intestinal damage in acute peritonitis based on an estimation of the toxin level and the severity of oxidative stress and phospholipase activity, as well as the intestinal motor function.
