FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Proposed method comprises cooling the surface of ingot pulled from casting mould by water-air mix produced by spraying water flow by compressed air flow. Water is pretreated by magnetic field to decrease its corrosion effects. In compliance with second version, cooling is performed by water-gas mix produced by spraying flow of magnetised water by flow of compressed gas, for example, carbon oxide, or nitrogen oxide, or carbon dioxide, or argon.
EFFECT: decreased scaling and crack formation.
