FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: blood plasma is examined for the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, the level of endogenous thrombin potential and the level of d-dimer, as well as the patient's age. It is followed by calculating the discriminant function by formula D=31.91*v1+0.04*v2+0.81*v3-2.26*v4-165.19, wherein: v1 is the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, mmole/l; v2 is the level of endogenous thrombin potential, nM; v3 is the patient's age, completed years; v4 is the level of d-dimer, gradations 0-6: gradation 0-0 mg/ml, 1 - less than 500 mg/ml, 2 - 500 to 1000 mg/ml, 3 - 1000 mg/ml, 4 - 2000 mg/ml, 5 - 3000 mg/ml, 6 - more than 3000 mg/ml. The values D<0 enables diagnosing the suffered stroke, while the values D>0 means its absence.
EFFECT: method enables higher diagnostic accuracy; it is easy to implement.
