FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in determining the levels of high-sensitive C-reactive protein and LDL cholesterol, activity of Willebrand factor, small aggregate count, aggregate-involved thrombocyte count, homocysteine and disco-echinocyte levels by biochemical analysis of blood plasma; all the values along with patient's age are used to calculate a discriminant function (D) by specific formula, and the related value is used to diagnose a degree of arteriosclerosis. If observing D>0, a degree of arteriosclerosis of at least one major artery of the head more than 75% is diagnosed. If D<0, a degree of arteriosclerosis is less than 75%.
EFFECT: method enables higher diagnostic accuracy; it is easy to implement, requires no modern equipment, highly-qualified personnel.
