FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: carbon electrode material, permeable for vapours and gases in the cross-wise direction, contains vertical through channels and represents a carbon-carbon composite material based on a graphite filler with binding phenolic-formaldehyde resin, their ratio equal to 1:1.1, with vertical through cylindrical channels with diameter equal to 8-52 mcm, 150-250 channels per 1 mm2 of the surface; the diameter of natural pores between the filler particles is 1.7-2.2 mcm, porosity - 36-79%, specific volumetric electric resistance - 4.6-6.8 mOhm·cm, compression strength - 34-152 MPa.
EFFECT: increased density of the fuel cell working current and the carbon electrode strength and gas permeability due to electrode porosity increase.
