FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular, to plant breeding. The method includes growing in the field as part of the population of individual plants and their screening - selection in relation to SF/BC (selection feature/background feature) taken into account the character of ecological regression. At that the weight of plant seeds is used as the SF. As a background feature a weight of segment of the lower part of the main sprout of the plant in the phase of complete ripeness is taken. Length of the line of the lower part of the main sprout of the plant is taken equal to 7-10 cm, from the root collar. Obtaining the line of the lower part of the sprout of the plant is carried out in the field. The weight of the plant seeds is determined by fruit collection of the plant in the field, the subsequent thrashing of fruit and weighing the seeds obtained in the laboratory.
EFFECT: method enables to reduce the duration process of accounting of background feature, to ensure the reliability of its change and the ability of accounting in the field.
