FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of agriculture, in particular, to wheat selection. The method is proposed to select highly productive forms of wheat, according to which during the firm ripe stage the weight of ear grain is identified, as well as the vegetative weight of the sprout, and the productivity index is a calculated coefficient of proportional dependence of ear grain weight on the vegetative weight of the sprout, and the value of this index is used to select plants, at the same time those varieties are related to highly productive ones, which have the maximum value of the index.
EFFECT: using the invention will ensure simplification and increase objectivity of the process of selection of highly productive forms of wheat.
