SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive engine control, particularly, to engine torque. Method of controlling torque of engine with automatic coupling from the state whereat torque limitation is used in throwing the clutch in to the state whereat torque limitation after termination of clutch throwing in is decreased and, finally, completely terminated, consists in gradual readjustment of limited torque to that requested by drive proceeding from difference between requested engine torque and limited engine torque. Limited engine torque varies only at variation of accelerator pedal position.
EFFECT: ease of clutch operation, reduced wear.
