FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device comprises means to indicate recommended gear ratio and computer. Computer incorporates characteristics of gear shifting for defining recommended gear ratio, element to define said gear ratio for optimum fuel consumption, and computing modules. Every said module is related to definite condition of driving. Said modules are arranged in series to allow loading correction to recommended gear ratio. Every loaded correction features priority relative to that loaded by previous module. Proposed method consists in indicating recommended gear ratio subject to vehicle motion conditions. Gear ratio is defined depending upon speed recommended for optimum fuel consumption and minimum emission of exhaust gases. Recommended gear ratio is corrected at consecutive stages. Conditions related with safety and convenience of driving are allowed for. Optimum recommended gear ratio is indicated.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and safety.
