FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rocketry. Method of making multi-grain charges for gas generator of (catapult) mortar launch of the rocket comprises mixing propellant components and forming the lot. Prior to making grain charges to meet preset specifications, charge specimens are selected to ensure maximum pressure pulse at minimum combustion rate. Then combustion rate of obtained specimens is defined in operating range of gas generator temperatures and pressures. Obtained combustion rate is used to define the number of grains in charge specimens whereat pressure pulse minimum and maximum values are ensured. Said specimens are produced, tested to obtain pressure-time relationship to be used in determination of pressure pulse. Provided the obtained pressure pulses comply with specifications, lot of charges is formed. Otherwise, correction is made to make pressure pulse at maximum and minimum temperature meet the specifications.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
