FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: plastic frame (2) lies on the side of the emitting surface (43) of a light-guide plate (4) through at least one optical sheet (3). A protrusion (25), facing the end surface (45) next to the emitting surface of the light-guide plate, is provided vertically on the plastic frame. The protrusion is elastically deformed towards the side opposite the light-guide plate which the protrusion faces. Since the protrusion is elastically deformed to allow expansion of the light-guide plate, the light-guide plate is not deformed. Therefore, it is possible to prevent, over a long period of time, deformation of the light-guide plate which arises from relative changes in the size of the light-guide plate due to temperature and humidity changes.
EFFECT: preventing deformation of the light-guide plate over a long period of time, arising from relative expansion of the light-guide plate due to temperature and humidity changes, preventing deterioration of the display quality of the display device due to such deformations of the light-guide plate.
