FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: compact gas discharge lamp (301), including four (or more) mutually connected tubular segments (11, 12, 13, 14), is equipped with an outer electrode (310), which is arranged at least along length of tubular segments, and which is in contact with all tubular segments. Several versions of external electrode realisation are disclosed. The external electrode is preferably connected with a unit (C) between lamp electrodes, to the end of which a capacitance divider (441, 442) is connected in parallel to the lamp.
EFFECT: improved stability of light radiation.
