FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to forming tools. Proposed device comprises expander with mandrel and forming elements, and hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic cylinder is used to apply static load to expander. Said hydraulic cylinder has head and waveguide to apply intermittent pulse load to expander. Said mandrel is arranged at hydraulic cylinder rod. Forming elements are composed of balls in quantity not smaller than that of balls in bearing for which said race is made. Said forming elements are fitted in front blind radial holes of the mandrel. Similar blind radial holes are made behind mandrel working part. Said front and rear holes are connected via grooves. Said grooves have lengthwise variable-depth sections and equal-depth sections inclined to lengthwise axis.
EFFECT: expanded machining performances, increased depth of hardened layer and decreased roughness.
