FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the filed of electrical power engineering and is to be applied for protection of wires and ground-wire cables of overhead power transmission lines against wind vibration. The damper contains a resilient rod 2, a clamp 3 for the damper attachment to the wire 1 and loads 4. Each load 4 is elongated along its longitudinal axis and attached to the rod 2 end via its middle part. The loads 4 are attached crosswise to the rod 2. The clamp 3 is fixed on the rod 2 in the middle thereof and attached to the wire 1 so that the rod 2 and the longitudinal axis 5 thereof are parallel to the wire 1. One wire 1, the rod 2 and the clamp 3 are positioned within a vertical plane while the axes 6 - in a horizontal one. The design parameters of the damper (bending stiffness of the rod 2 working parts, weight of the loads 4 and moment of their inertia relative axis 6) are selected so that any proper frequency fp of the damper satisfies either of the following conditions: fp<0.18/d or fp>1.4/d where d is the diameter (m) of the wire or ground-wire cable of the overhead power transmission line for damping vibrations wherein the vibration damper is intended while fp, is the damper proper frequency (Hz). The loads 4 may be designed, in particular, in the form of a cylinder, a square cross-section bar section or a steel pipe filled with heavy meal such as lead.
EFFECT: in enhanced protection of wires and ground-wire cables of overhead power transmission lines against eolic vibration.
