FIELD: power engineering; vibration dampers for conductors and ground wires of overhead power transmission lines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed vibration damper has elastic damping member (ground wire) with counterweights and clamp. The latter is attached to conductor on one end and to ground wire, on other end. Counterweights are made in the form of C-shaped stems having long and short arms and pipe connection wherein ground wire is secured. Counterweight arm length is found from known equation and distance between attachment point of counterweights on ground wire and attachment point of clamp is calculated from formula given in invention specification. Tests have shown that proposed vibration damper reliably functions in operating frequency band of 5 to 150 Hz. Proposed stagger-peaked vibration dampers have been launched in serial production.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of vibration-damper frequency and power characteristics.
