FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: spreader-suppressor represents an annular enclosed flexible element and the limiter of the said element motion caused by the cable vibrations. The flexible element is made up of a multi-conductor steel cable in a preformed state. The cable is fastened by clamps to the power line wires. The motion limiter represents a cantilever arm with a cylindrical weight. The cantilever arm length should be selected so that to make, at least, ¼ of the cable diameter measured along the lengthwise axis of the rod arranged between the spreader clamps. The rod with the weight overlaps the spreader axis of symmetry to allow the most optimum conditions for the system operation in eccentric position which is extremely important for suppression of the cables vibrations. The weight is located vertically in the plane perpendicular to the flexible element plane.
EFFECT: efficient suppression of vibrations, subvibrations and dancing on aerial power lines with two wires in splitted phase.
