FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method is intended for producing axially symmetric welded critical structures. Method comprises assembly in welding appliance, electric arc fusion welding in atmosphere of protective gases, machining and air tightness tests. Central tubular element is made up of barrel with its one end is expanded by LH end element butt lock joint strap diametre and depth. Bottom with retainer attachment assembly is welded to opposite end. Barrel with LH end element is assembled for interference fit and butt-welded thereto. Half-assembly is subjected to air tightness tests for weld seams by pressure of at least 0.6 MPa while barrel inner space is checked for accuracy in size. Preassembly with thin-wall shell ring is performed wherein barrel bottom is locked on inner surface of the latter by retainers. Shell ring is welded in two steps, first by argon arc welding by nonconsumable electrode and, then by consumable electrode in atmosphere of protective gases.

EFFECT: higher quality, strength and tightness of welded joints.
