SUBSTANCE: method involves removing high-frequency noise from an image by converting the original image with a smoothing filter while setting a mask which corresponds to twice the diameter of the minimum saved element, and carrying out "brightness smoothing". The background is equalised using a corresponding filter while setting the mask depending on the dimensions, structure, brightness and colour characteristics of the analysed objects and processing is completed by filtering on colour and optical characteristics until obtaining an optimum state of the image of the micropreparation.
