METHOD AND DEVICE OF INVARIANT IDENTIFICATION OF FINGERPRINTS BY KEY POINTS Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC G06K9/68

Abstract RU 2486590 C1

FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: method operates with passports of archive and query fingerprints in formats of two lists of unstable Cartesian coordinates of key points, which are converted into two lists of more stable polar coordinates of these points relative to centres of valid basic sections. Using them, the extent of proximity is determined between two fingerprints by finding the minimum distance for every key point in one print from all key points of another print, and by counting the average value of named distances in all key points of both prints for further comparison with the threshold value and making a decision about identification. The device performs procedures of handling of query and archive prints in parallel in two interrelated master micro-PC (master and slave micro-PC), which additionally for acceleration of calculations in parallel sections of an identification logic, data is transferred into a multiprocessor accelerator of recognition.

EFFECT: development of a specialised computing device for finding proximity of a pair of fingerprints during identity verification or identification with least costs of time for recognition and minimised impact of negative factors, arising when reading a print.
