METHOD OF DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSTICS OF PROSTATE GLAND PATHOLOGY Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2488352 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to methods of ultrasound diagnostics of character of prostate gland pathology. Patient with detected pathology of prostate gland is subjected to complex ultrasound examination. In case if direct signs of malignant affection are absent, detection and estimation of indirect signs is carried out. Indirect signs include: asymmetry of thickness of peripheral zones, asymmetrical hyperplasia of transition zones; multinodular hyperplasia of one of transition zones, deformation and thickening of surgical capsule, presence of section of chaotic deformation of vascular pattern; sections of accumulation of microcalcinates in one of gland zones; local deformation, thickening and infiltration of boundary layer; asymmetric thickening and deformation of seminal vesicle. Each sign is estimated as ultrasound index of malignisation and is designated by unit. Sum of indices lower than four testifies to absence of malignant affection, the parameter being equal four units and higher presence of malignant affection of prostate gland is stated and targeted biopsy in zone of detected changes is performed.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to determine character of prostate gland pathology by means of non-invasive methods and increase accuracy of pathology character determination.
