FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: display arrangement includes a housing for mounting an optical subsystem and a light-guide plate connected to the housing for receiving light, representing an image, from the optical subsystem. The light-guide plate includes a first diffraction grating for inputting light and a second diffraction grating for outputting light from the light-guide plate such that the light is received by the eye of the user carrying the arrangement. The light-guide plate includes a contact surface portion for optical connection thereof to a transparent plate. The contact surface portion is capable of providing physical contact with said transparent plate. The light-guide plate is made such that it repeats the shape of said transparent plate. The display device includes a mounting part which enables the user to carry the device, a carrier plate connected to the mounting part and having an optical surface structure near the boundary of the carrier plate, configured to display an object, and said arrangement, which is connected to the carrier plate.

EFFECT: design of a thin, near-eye display arrangement which can be used to provide a virtual user interface of an electronic device.
