FIELD: augmented reality devices.

SUBSTANCE: optical combiner for displaying augmented reality with correction of user visual impairment contains a compensator, a waveguide having an input diffractive optical element (DOE) and an output DOE, a virtual image projector. The waveguide has such a thickness gradient along the first and second sides of the waveguide that as the rays that form the virtual image propagate inside the waveguide from the input DOE to the output DOE, the angle of incidence of said rays on the walls inside the waveguide increases. The output DOE is located opposite the user's eye and is configured to output rays that form a virtual image, incident on the output DOE at an angle equal to or greater than the smallest angle of the predetermined range of the output DOE angular selectivity, from the waveguide to the user's eye.

EFFECT: invention enables a user with vision problems to use augmented reality glasses and see both a virtual image and a real undistorted image of the external environment without using additional medical glasses.
