FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: installed within the accumulator battery with a casing (1) is at least one electric accumulator (3) having two electric outputs (4, 5) and two current conductive lines (8, 9), each of them connected to one of the current outputs (4, 5) of the accumulator (3), the lines lead to the two electric contacts (13, 14). Envisaged in at least one of the two current conductive lines (8, 9) is a protective device (10) positioned outside the accumulator (3), and protecting the accumulator (3) against overheating and/or over-current. The protective device (10) has a reversible effect circuit-breaking element (11), limiting electric current flow after the preset threshold temperature has been reached, and an irreversible effect circuit-breaking element (12) irreversibly interrupting flow of electric current through itself after the preset threshold temperature has been reached or limiting or interrupting flow of electric current through itself after the preset threshold current intensity has been reached. The reversible and irreversible effect circuit-breaking elements (11, 12) are connected in series.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of protecting the accumulator battery and electric device equipped with such battery against overheating and over-current.
