SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in the production and operation of batteries based on accumulators of electrical energy in the form of batteries and electrochemical capacitors. The method for operating a battery of accumulators of electrical energy from n series-connected cells is that the discharge, charging and storage in a charged state is carried out by monitoring the voltage and current of the cells, while the failed or reached the final voltage are excluded from the battery without breaking the current in the charging circuit or discharge. Balancing the voltage on the cells is carried out by shunting and switching the cell, which has reached the final charge voltage, with the help of key cells from the battery to a two-wire balancing bus to discharge it through a similarly connected element with a minimum voltage. Reducing the overall time and increasing the efficiency of battery charging is a technical result of the invention.

EFFECT: invention provides long-term storage of energy storage devices in a charged state and their reliability during operation.
