FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: laser sorter is indeed for analysis of objects by machine vision and their separation by color, sizes, shape or other characteristics. It may be primarily used for sorting of agricultural products. In compliance with this invention, laser illumination is distributed over the entire aperture of moving flow. Absence of moving optical elements, reliability, ease of manufacture and low costs are the main advantages of claimed invention. Proposed laser sorter comprises material carrier, collimated laser illumination source, image read-and-process device and device for removal of defective products. Additionally, it comprises cylindrical lens arranged on collimated ray path. Note here that said lens is directed so that formed flat light ray illuminates material image read area.
