FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: in metal coating method of magnesium-containing carbonate iron-ore materials, which involves oxidising roasting in a shaft furnace, reduction together with a reducing agent a desulphurising agent, cooling, grinding and magnetic separation, according to the invention, original ore with particle size of 10-60 mm is first subject to gravity concentration; oxidising roasting is performed at the temperature of 1100-1200°C; after that, roasted ore in hot form is charged directly to the rotating furnace and reduced, and reduced ore is crushed with further extraction of metal coated product. When ore is crushed to fineness of (-5 mm), dry magnetic separation is performed, and when ore is crushed to fineness of (-0.1 mm), wet magnetic separation is performed. Hot gas is supplied from the rotating furnace to the shaft furnace for oxidising roasting for utilisation of its physical and chemical heat.
EFFECT: reduction of power and material costs for the process.
