FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of fire-proof materials and can be used in fire-proof industry in manufacturing carbon-containing grogs, used for lining of high-temperature of metallurgical aggregates. Composition of mass for carbon-containing grogs includes components with the following ratio, wt %: grained fire-proof component - 60-85; fine-disperse fire-proof component - 10-25; complex solid carbon component (graphite) - 5-15; phenolic binding agent, above 100% - 1.0-5.5, solid thermoplastic binding agent (fusible heavy residues of coal tar refining), above 100% - 0.5-5.0, sulphur, above 100% - 0.1-2 and additionally 0.1-5% above 100 wt % of antioxidant. As fire-proof component used is periclase, corundum or spinel. At the first stage of mass preparation grained fire-proof component is mixed with solid thermoplastic binding agent and sulphur until complete mixture homogenisation, after that phenolic resin, complex solid carbon component and fine-disperse fire-proof component are added to obtained mixture. Antioxidant is introduced 3-5 minutes before the end of mixing. Obtained mixture is formed and thermally processed at temperature above 80°C.

EFFECT: high resistance to oxidation and improved thermomechanical properties of lining at exploitation temperatures.
