FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal working, particularly, to spark cutting by non-profiled cutter and may be used for making forming cutter for production of, for example, mould forming parts. In compliance with proposed method, cutter working part is formed by processing the workpiece by spark discharges with the help of program-controlled electromechanical assembly with forming tool composed of wire electrode displacing in 4-axes relative to workpiece. Spark erosion effects are produced at 60-62 V, electrode gap voltage of 38-40 V, cutting current of 5-7 A, duration of discharge pulse absence of 0.3-0.36 mcs, electrode feed rate of 6-7 m/min and electrode tension of 8000-10000 N. Note here that pumping pressure in wire electrode guide nozzles is set to make 255-260 bar.
EFFECT: high-quality forming cutter and high cutter strength.
