TINTED SILICONE OPHTHALMIC DEVICES, METHODS FOR MAKING SAME, PROCESSES AND POLYMERS USED Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC B29D11/02 G02C7/04

Abstract RU 2491169 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: inventions refer to ophthalmology and aim at making tinted silicone hydrogel ophthalmic devices free from tint leak, bleed or washout that is ensured by the fact that the method according to the invention provides applying a first colorant composition containing at least one non-crosslinked binding co-polymer, at least one pigment, dye or a mixture thereof and at least one printing solvent to a surface of an ophthalmic device mould, adding a non-polymerised composition over the applied first colorant composition of the non-crosslinked binding co-polymer to prepare hydrogel in an amount required to prepare a finished ophthalmic device with the above composition for preparing hydrogel has the oxygen permeability after polymerisation more than approximately 50 Barrers; the above composition for preparing hydrogel is further polymerised to make the stable tinted ophthalmic device.

EFFECT: making the silicone hydrogel tinted ophthalmic devices free from tint leak, bleed or washout.
