FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a silicone (meth)acrylamide monomer, the molecules of which contain a straight chain siloxanyl group and preferably a hydroxyl group. Disclosed is a silicone (meth)acrylamide monomer of general formula (a), where R is hydrogen or methyl; R1 is hydrogen or an alkyl containing 1-20 carbon atoms, which can be substituted with a hydroxyl; R2 is a C1-10-alkylene group, which can be substituted with a hydroxyl; R3-R9 independently denote C1-20-alkyl, which can be substituted with a hydroxyl, n is an integer from 1 to 10. A polymer obtained from said monomer is also disclosed, as well as an ophthalmic lens and a contact lens made therefrom.
