FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: slab (1) is pulled via a plant (2), which in direction of displacement (F) of the slab (1) comprises the following components in the specified order: a casting machine (3), the first furnace (4), at least one rough rolling mill (5), the second furnace (6), at least one finishing rolling mill (7) and a cooling area (8), at the same time the method includes: a) determination of a required temperature profile of the slab (1) along its motion via the plant (2); b) placement of at least one element (9, 10) acting at the temperature in the production line (L) of the plant (2), to maintain temperature of the slab (1) in accordance with the certain temperature profile. The element (9, 10) acting at temperature is inserted between the first furnace (4) and at least one rough rolling mill (5) and/or the second furnace (6) and at least one finishing rolling mill (7); c) production of the slab (1) in the specified plant (2). Besides, at least one element acting at temperature (9, 10) operates so that a certain temperature profile is at least mainly maintained.

EFFECT: control of temperature progress according to the specified profile along time or movement path for better control and management over structure formation.
