SUBSTANCE: gate control unit includes a shift register with odd-number stages, a shift register with even-number stages, and main lines which include clock frequency signal main lines. Each stage of one of the shift registers receives a first clock frequency CKA signal and a second clock frequency CKB signal from the clock frequency signal main lines, and a third clock frequency CKC signal and a fourth clock frequency CKD signal from an adjacent stage of another shift register. Each stage of the shift register can receive a second clock frequency CKB signal from another stage of the same shift register.

EFFECT: reducing the area of the picture frame of a panel in a display device having a scanning signal line control circuit having multiple shift registers.
