SUBSTANCE: television broadcast receiver (1) receives EPG data which include: broadcasting period information indicating, for each program individually manageable by the receiver, the broadcasting time length of the program and records in memory (28). The receiver (1) includes: a storage target selecting section (52) that selects a program having broadcasting time, the length of which falls within a given range by referring to the broadcasting period information of each program included in EPG data received, and generates adjusted EPG data (60) including the selected program; and an EPG data recording section (54) that records the generated adjusted EPG data (60) in the memory (28).

EFFECT: reduced amount of information on a program line-up which must be stored in memory through a simple sequence of operations and considering the purpose of using the EPG.
