FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to livestock breeding and veterinary medicine, in particular to a method of prevention of diseases of cows in early after-calving period. The method comprises feeding the cows with feed additive "Hydrogemol" which is the acid hydrolysate of blood of slaughter animals, which pH is made up to 3.5-4 by adding lactic acid, benzoic acid and succinic acid. The feed additive is added to the basal diet in daily amount of 1.0-1.5 l per one cow and fed for 10 days prior to and 10 days after calving.
EFFECT: method enables to reduce morbidity rate, to improve safety, to increase milk production, and to shorten period of fruitful cow mating.
