FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroaviation, particularly, to amphibians and may be incorporated with amphibian takeoff and landing ACS. In compliance with proposed method, amphibian motion height is compared with top and bottom thresholds of preset range of altitudes while hydrodynamic effects of medium on amphibian boat bottom are compared with preset vibration threshold. In case measured altitude is between top and bottom thresholds then at hydrodynamic effects exceeding vibration threshold decision "water" is made while at hydrodynamic effects under vibration threshold decision "air" is made. Irrespective of hydrodynamic effects magnitude at measured altitude above top threshold "air" decision is made and at altitude below bottom threshold decision "air" is made.
EFFECT: higher validity of signaling takeoff and landing, afloat and in-air positions.
