SUBSTANCE: method involves detecting physical parameters using sensors, converting data to wavelet coefficients and subsequent analysis. Pressure fluctuation is measured by sensors mounted behind the input device at the engine input; measurement results are used to calculate wavelet coefficients of different levels and standard deviation of the wavelet coefficients; the obtained standard deviation values are compared with maximum values obtained during preflight tests; an approaching surge is indicated by standard deviation reaching maximum values.
EFFECT: invention increases reliability of diagnosing input devices in both subsonic and supersonic flight modes with a stationary or non-stationary signal; detecting local features of signals.
