FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for determination of a food product consistence includes stages whereat one performs application of a vibration pulse with preset frequency to the food material, measurement of the food material vibration response to the vibration pulse and comparison of the vibration response to the reference value determined prior to measurement. The food material in a liquid or semisolid condition is confined inside a container. The device for determination of food material consistence contains a unit for vibration pulse generation having a piezoelectric actuator mechanism, a device for vibration measurement represented by a vibration metre, a retention mechanism with a container for retention of food material therein or a string for attachment of food material thereto as well as an analyser for comparing measurement vibrations to the reference value determined before measurement.
EFFECT: enhanced measurement accuracy enabling detection of insignificant changes in vibration response.
