FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: material is distributed in medium dissipating neutrons adjoining neutron source or surrounding it, and is subjected to neutron flux effects. Medium dissipating neutrons and said source are surrounded by neutron reflector-moderator and neutron absorber. To form neutron fluxes, synthesis reaction proceeding in tokomak. Neutron dissipating medium is neutronluscent and designed to allow neutron dissipation to increase neutron flux to act on transmutation material. Heavy elements, e.g. lead and bismuth with lithium addition used as dissipating medium allows neutron spectrum variation including gradual retardation of thermonuclear neutrons along with slow shift downward in power spectrum, which allows efficient resonance neutron captures in irradiated material and optimises extraction of tritium required for synthesis of deuterium and yttrium.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of transmutation of long-lived nuclides.
