FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: device is designed as three adjacent units, first of which is designed as neutron generator, which has source of ampere range deuterium ions and deuterium-containing target which has large area and is subjected to deuterium ion flow which power is in range of 150-200 kilo eV. Second unit is designed as amplifier of directed flux of fast neutrons; third unit is reactor proper. Second and third units consist of circuit of multiple-layer plane-parallel members which touch adjacent members by plane sides. Each member includes absorber plate, which absorbs slow neutrons, and several acting pairs, which consist of two touching plates, one for moderation of fast neutrons and another one contains fission material. Number of acting pairs in stage members of amplifier and number of stage members in amplifier depend on common amplification of directed flux of fast neutrons in amplifier; while corresponding numbers in reactor proper are determined by gain factor in each stage member (this figure is close one) and by required reactor power. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
