FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy of IVB-subgroup metals, particularly, to cleaning the metal powders of oxygen impurities. Proposed method comprises saturation of titanium powder with hydrogen to make titanium hydride powder and removal of hydrogen in vacuum at the temperature lower than that of powder active sintering.
EFFECT: content of oxygen impurity reduced to 0,2 wt %, lower costs and power consumption.
