FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of powder metallurgy, in particular to methods for purification of titanium powders and alloys from oxygen impurities. Purification of titanium powders and alloys is carried out by interaction with magnesium or calcium hydride powder in a flow of inert gas thermal plasma generated with an electric discharge.
EFFECT: intensification of a purification process and reduction in a reaction time.
